Giorgio Moroder Features Britney Spears on New Album: Listen to the Dance Music Legend's 7 Most Famous Songs

I’m so excited! On Monday, it was announced that Britney Spears is featured on Giorgio Moroder’s new album, 74 Is the New 24. Whoa. This is a big deal! If you’re not already familiar with Moroder, let me fill you in: He’s an Italian-born musician who got his start in the ’70s producing hits for disco diva Donna Summer. In fact, he’s often credited with shaping the sound of disco in the United States. Moroder won three Oscars for his musical work in films during the ’70s and ’80s. More recently, he collaborated with Daft Punk on their 2013 Grammy Award–winning album, Random Access Memories, and went on to do remixes for big artists like Lady Gaga and Coldplay. Now, at 74 years old, he’s preparing to put out his first LP in over 30 years.
Kylie Minogue, Sia Furler, and Charli XCX (among others) will also appear on 74 Is the New 24, but Spears’ collaboration is the one I’m most excited about. Spears, much like Moroder, is a trendsetter — she’s given listeners a number of memorable dance hits over the years. I can’t wait to hear what happened when she hit the studio with one of the genre’s pioneers!
