Britney: I Want More Money Than JLO

Britney Spears is getting paid millions to be a judge on the upcoming season of Fox and Simon Cowell’s The X Factor. After the negotiation process was finally completed earlier this month, it was reported that she secured a $15 million payday. A new report suggests that one of her main concerns was getting more than American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez.

Sources told TMZ on Tuesday that Spears requested that she make more than Lopez, who was paid $12 million for her first season on Idol. According to the report, if Spears wasn’t offered at least $13 million, she would have walked away. On top of that, some sources suggested that she wanted as much as $20 million.

Lopez was reportedly paid $20 million to judge the latest season of Idol, which ended last week. However, TMZ reports that JLo’s paycheck was lower than that.

Spears ended up signing on, agreeing to a $15 million paycheck for her first season.

The show is currently filming auditions and so far, everything seems to be going well. Although TMZ had reported that Spears actually walked off the set angry on the first day, Spears denied it on Twitter. Cowell and Spears later sent a message straight to TMZ telling them to “play nice” and that there had been no walk-offs.

Spears and Cowell will be joined by L.A. Reid and former Disney channel star Demi Lovato at the judge’s table this season, which starts in the fall.
